**BLOOMING BUDDIES BLOG SPRING 2021**

The joys of gardening! Dodging rain, marigolds by the canal towpath eaten by slugs, lupins at Wrekin covered in aphids and a dandelion fest at all our sites, such has been the lot of Blooming Buddies so far this year.
Luckily there has been plenty to celebrate as well, the white cherry tree by the entrance to Wrekin Avenue had an argument with a digger in 2016 but has now fully recovered and put on a good display of blossom this year with the hope of cherries to come.
The photos show how we continue to be supported in our
work by residents of Newport. The blue iris (and many other plants) are maintained by our Phantom Planter and an old spirea gratefully accepted from another resident now lives on in four new plants.
Families following the Bird Box Trail have discovered our Wrekin Avenue and Hawkstone Avenue sites for the first time which is lovely for us and a success for Bird Box Banksy.
